Groove Festival is just a week away, so time to start planning that all important festival look. With so much on offer at Groove from 11am through to 11pm, here are some top tips for refreshing your outfit and getting you festival ready, so you can transition from daytime downward dog to night time raving, without the need for a wardrobe change!
Heading to Thrive?
Thrive is Groove Festival’s brand new wellness zone. You’ll find Thrive tucked away in a secluded corner of Killruddery’s gardens, but you will uncover a wonderful world of wellness, where you can relax, rejuvenate and reenergise the mind, body and soul through our weekend program of over 35 free movement classes, wellness workshops and inspirational talks.
Thrive offers gentle movement classes throughout the day, from yoga and pilates, to dance and laughter yoga for the little ones, so don’t worry, you won’t be in for a hard core sweat sesh. If you are a fan of the popular athleisure look, Thrive is your time to shine. Or, if you tend to avoid yoga pants at all costs, don’t worry, all you need is something comfy and a good attitude!
All you need to do is rock up for your chosen session at Thrive, grab a mat (we’ll have some for you to borrow!) and get involved, no experience required.
It wouldn’t be a festival without a bit of face paint, so the team at Silly Billy will be on hand in Groove’s Family Zone ready to transform your toddler into a tiger, fairy or paw patrol pal. Then arm them with a balloon sword and you’re ready to go.
For the slightly older kids, there are so many activities on offer, from the sky high climbing wall, archery, inflatable kick darts, to zorbing and kayaking on the lake. Make sure they have comfy shoes, sunnies and a hat to keep them shaded throughout the day.
It’s not all fitness and active adventures at Groove Festival this year. Our party runs late into the night with music from the likes of Primal Scream, UB40 feat. Ali, Astro & Mickey, Hudson Taylor, Chasing Abbey and many more, as well as loads of interesting festival features to take part in throughout the venue.
As well as your dancing shoes and a jacket for when the night gets cooler, there are some simple additions to your daytime look will have you jazzed up and ready to rave the night away at Groove Festival.
Sweeping the world of festivals in 2017 has been a wave of body adornment the likes not seen since Woodstock. Glitter, gems, tattoos, bling beards, UV artwork, henna, & multi hair colours to name a few crazes trending this season. Anything that adorns the body is in right now and The Paint Labs are on hand at Groove Festival to help you achieve that look.
Paula from The Paint Labs told us “It’s amazing the wave of expression, freedom and artistic creativity that this whole new scene of body adornment has brought. We are expressing new sides of ourselves through what ‘bling’ we choose & all in the name of Festival fun… it brings out the best in everybody!”
The Paint Labs will be taking pre bookings for Groove Festival if you’d like to get your festival look professionally ready before the crowds arrive or alternatively you can pop by their Labs throughout the day. They have devised many different styles to cater for you for any eventuality with our climate so whether you have to be covered up or choose to go completed exposed, they have adornments that suit you!
So get glittered, body painted or give your hair a fresh boost with a braid and some bling, and then don’t forget to document it by popping into Energia’s 360 photo booth!
Do like your mother said, and be sure to have plenty of sun cream for your day at Groove Festival. Hats for the little ones, plenty of water, and those all important sun glasses (extra points for novelty glasses). If showers are expected, it’s always advised to have a poncho within reach, and if needed they will be available to purchase from the festival bars. Backpacks are permitted but note that no glass bottles are allowed at Groove Festival.
Most importantly, all you need to bring is an open mind and we’ll do the rest. Show us your Groove Festival look on social media by tagging us at @groovefestival @thrivefest or using the hashtag #Groove17.
